-k=1
and divide by -1
k=-1

5(3-k)=20
5*3-5*k=20 (Distributive Property)
15-5k=20
15-15-5k=20-15
-5k=5
k=5/-5
k=-1

Do the multipkication on the left side. 15 - 5k = 20  subtract 15 from both sides    -5k = 5  Divide both sides by -5    k = -1    Check.

start by removing the 5, since it is multiplying the variable, to get rid of it you divide
1- 5(3-k)/5=20/5 = 3-k=4
2- remove the 3, since it is positive 3, you subtract 3
3- 3-3-k=4-3 = -k=1
4- since the variable is negative, there is an imaginary -1 in front of it (-1)k=1
to get rid of it, divide my negative 1 (negative divided by negative = positive)
now you get -k/-1=1/-1
k= -1
