its 83 since the atomic number is the number of electrons it has and there is the same number of protons and electrons in a atom.  so since there is 83 protons it means there is 83 electrons.  which makes the atomic number 83.

Hope this helps!

83 -- the amount of protons is the atomic number and the amount of electrons is the same as the amount of protons. When there're more neutrons than protons or electrons it's called an isotope.
