A rather morbid class project.  What kind of class is it?   There are many complex reactions which take place when skin is exposed to acid.  There is no "burning" in the sense of combustion.  A chemical burn is produced which mimics some of the same damage as a burn due to heat.  Since there are chemical reactions involved, there are energy changes, but I would not classify a chemical burn as a "source" of energy.
