Hi,

Below is a slide my teacher had about lophotrochozoans. It says that there is no synapomorphy for them. I am confused about what he meant by this statement and the picture. Any help? Surely he can't mean they have no shared traits, can he?  Neutral Face

He meant that they don't have any shared, derived characters. Look at the diagram... Notice how all animals after the tuna fish have a bony skeleton.
