C) the astronomical unit. (Not really used for stellar distances unless one counts the Sun itself. I might like to say "oww, ahh!" at 1.6 million AU to Vega, but astronomers are a bit more serious than I and will take 25.3 light-years, or even better, 7.76 parsec.)
