Epiphyses are
 
  a. ends of bones that articulate with other bones and eventually fuse to the shaft at a known rate.
  b. cartilage of the pelvis that erodes with age and undergoes distinct changes.
  c. the angled edges of both halves of the posterior side of the pelvis.
  d. useful for determining the sex of human skeletons.
  e. evidence of dietary deficiencies
