To help prevent shin splints, do all of the following EXCEPT
 
  a. exercise on resilient surfaces.
  b. warm-up and stretch properly.
  c. exercise on the balls of the feet.
  d. wear shoes with good arch support.
  e. strengthen the muscles that flex the foot.
