Repatriation is an adjustment as employees are reintegrated back into their organization's home-country operations. Adjustment problems occur especially with those who have lived abroad for a lengthy period of time. As individuals become more and more accustomed to the advantages of their overseas lifestyle, they find they are missing those advantages when they return back home. Others find that they have oversold themselves on the attributes of their home country only to return home and find what they thought they missed, they really didn't miss at all. Others who have developed foreign-based habits find those habits just as hard to break upon their return home as their original home-based habits they had to discontinue when they first went overseas. Managers are not always aware of these repatriation issues and needs.
