What kind of jobs can one expect to be employed as?  Also is the income generated from a masters degree worth it?

Depends on what companies take you in. In my humble opinion, usually pure science majors either end up in graduate school or do research orientated industrial work biotech, pharmaceuticals, etc.

Also it depends on what kind of training you have. Engineers by far have higher job prospects because they are quantitatively trained.
