Im in the UK, probably going to Glasgow university to get a degree in Physics, then possibly a PhD. If you got a degree/PhD in Physics what job did you get? I mainly want to know what there is besides research and becoming a teacher.

I got a PhD in physics, and I got a postdoc at a top lab in astrophysics.  Most of my friends went into a postdoc or two and then applied for faculty positions; a few went into industry (and are making far more money, but that might be mostly a US thing since it's all government contractors).  There's a great book called 'So What Are You Going To Do With That?' about non-academic careers for PhDs.
