"What percent of republicans do you think will take issue on nominating a Mormon (Mitt Romney) for president?"
@ Jay

The fact is that some if not most people on both parties, take issue on religion. Some wouldn't vote for an atheist, or muslim, or  catholic, or what ever. The question is simply asking  about  the republicans and the specific religion of mormonism. Nothing more, nothing less.

Your question seems fair and is one that appears on polls from respected organizations.

Now, there's a subtle dig at Republicans, as it implies that they are not open to Mormonism.

I don't think you're implying, however, that Mormons are bad (in your opinion).  Or that Romney is bad.

Why do you have to state that he is a mormon?

Probably because of how you wrote the question shows your intent to discredit Mitt. Kind of a simple implication. Frankly, being a Mormon is a lot better than being some of the potential possibilities out there, such as a Muslim or an Atheist.  Or worse yet someone who is not committed to what they claim they believe in.

The question assumes that Republicans have something against Mormons.

I answered your question, and I am a republican and I did not accuse you of anything. However, the question implies something is wrong with being a Mormon.

Thats actually a very good question. There will be a small percentage that wont vote for him because he's mormon. I don't care, I think he's got great hair.

The religion of a candidate is important because most of us will act according with what we beleive to be reight and this according to what we have learned from our parents and spiritual leaders.

JFK was a Catholic
Al Gore is a Atheist
B. Obama is a Muslim
So were probably ready for a Mormon, Honesty and loving America is more important to me.
