I know of someone that has been taking it recreationally and im just curious as to what benefit it would possibly be giving him that he would WANT to take it. Unless it's just because he considers it to be "just another pill".

If you're talking about levothyroxine for hypothyroidism, it really depends on the dose, but you'll get a pseudo-hyperthyroidism since it's simple hormone replacement.  weight loss, anxiety, hyperactivity, irritability, raised heart rate.
