1. Keep legs in a dependent position as much as possible.

These may cut of blood flow circulation, pt should not be wearing it

dependent (1) means by having support like sitting down or having the legs rest on something, this should not be advised. which is also why (3) is not correct. 4 is an unnecessary instruction.

Nursing care for the patient with chronic venous insufficiency includes elevating the legs while resting and during sleep; walking as much as possible, but avoiding sitting or standing for long periods of time; when sitting, do not cross legs or allow pressure on the back of the knees, such as sitting on the side of the bed; do not wear anything that pinches legs, such as knee-high hose, garters, or girdles; wearing elastic hose as prescribed; and keeping the skin on the feet and legs clean, soft, and dry.
