1,3,4 -- Epicondylitis is the inflammation of the tendon at its point of origin into the bone and is also referred to as “tennis elbow” or “golfer’s elbow” due to the repetition of movement with both of these sports. Initial treatment is conservative and includes that administration of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen. Morphine sulfate is not the drug of choice for a patient with this health problem. Immobilization would be used by applying an arm splint, and ice may be followed by heat, applying every four hours. Surgical repair is not indicated this soon before other less drastic measures are employed.
Don't forget to give me a thumbs up!
