Pale nasal mucosa with clear mucoid discharge indicates allergic rhinitis. Polyps are tumorlike growths. Yellow discharge would be seen with infection. Habitual use of intranasal cocaine and opioids causes puffiness and increased vascularity of the nasal mucosa.
