A
HPV is very strongly linked to cervical cancer. The four types of HPV cause 70 of cervical cancers.
While having multiple sexual partners does increase the risk of contracting HIV, HIV would not be detected with a Pap smear.
HPV does not increase the risk of uterine cancer, and uterine cancer would not be detected with a Pap smear.
Regular screenings improve client outcomes; the purpose of the Pap smear is directly related to the detection of cervical cancer.
