What are the three main components of a feedback loop?  You do not need to include the afferent and efferent pathways. 







A red blood cell is placed in a beaker filled with a “hypertonic” solution.  Explain the tonicity difference between the inside and outside of the cell, and what will happen to the cell.

Receptor, Integrator and Effector

A red blood cell is placed in a beaker filled with a “hypertonic” solution.  Explain the tonicity difference between the inside and outside of the cell, and what will happen to the cell.

Hypertonic solution will leave the cell to dilute the external fluid causing the cell to crenate (shrink).
