Feedback:
The nurse should encourage the client who has had a leg amputated to lie in a prone position, rather than on the back. Two sets of compression bandages are needed following amputation so that bandages can be changed at least twice per day, or more often if a client perspires freely. The stump should be wrapped so it forms a cone shape and the dressing should be changed using aseptic technique.
