You are working in the clinic when patient XX reports for his appointment. You recognize him as a new neighbor. As you room him, he proudly tells you he is on parole, a convicted sex offender who has done his time and is in treatment.

He is confident he will not offend again but is expressing fairly strong statement about his displeasure at seeing his picture all over his new neighborhood. You try to remember your professional role and opt to say:
  A) People are fearful. When they hear of someone hurting children, they tend to want you isolated.
  B) You have committed several serious crimes, yet you seem angry that people react negatively to you
  C) You're lucky they are not being more verbal toward you and your crimes.
  D) You're feeling unfairly treated in your new neighborhood?
