To understand the multiple factors influencing an effective transcultural interaction, the nurse maintains the role of active listener and keeps the intervention focused on the client's constructs for health and wellness. Teaching clients about other cultures is not a priority and it is unnecessary for the nurse to explain his or her own culture.
