The recent recession has had an effect on the private prison industry, as more and more states try to reduce their prison populations. A number of private prisons have been closed and it is reported that CCA has nearly 12,000 unfilled beds. Despite this setback, the private prison industry appears to be a permanent fixture in American corrections. What is your opinion on the fact that the private prison industry appears to be a permanent fixture in American corrections?
