Potentiometers and rheostats differ in that:
 
  A) potentiometers utilize three terminals, while rheostats usually use only two terminals.
  B) potentiometers utilize linear and nonlinear tapers, while rheostats usually utilize only linear tapers.
  C) potentiometers are used to vary voltages, while rheostats vary currents.
  D) all of these.
