Optimal pretreatment before administration of amphotericin B is with acetaminophen, diphenhydramine, and meperidine (for rigors).
Motrin is not suggested as pretreatment.
Aspirin is an option, but it may increase kidney damage.
Morphine is not indicated in the pretreatment regimen.
