Increased blood pressure can result when ginkgo is used in combination with a thiazide diuretic. Hawthorne can potentiate hypotension. Licorice can increase potassium loss, leading to hypokalemia. St. John's wort is not listed as an herbal alert substance with thiazide diuretics.
