A patient in treatment for multiple myeloma is on Mesnex (ifosfamide). She reports to you that she is having bouts of nausea and has been unable to eat. What is the nurse's best response?

  1. Take nothing by mouth until this passes.
  2. Replace fluid losses right away.
  3. Only eat nonsalty foods.
  4. Hold ice chips in your mouth.
