Was Benko's remark that the plaintiff would probably not get the job when the plaintiff revealed her age sufficient evidence for a jury to find that the defendant's stated reasons served as a pretext to hide a discriminatory practice?

No. The remark was too temporally and situationally distant from the actual hiring decision to be seen as strong evidence of the employer's practice or attitude. It was an offhanded remark of a supervisor with no demonstrated role in the promotion process.
