Which of these descriptions does NOT contain a scientific hypothesis?

   A. The microbiologist observed that the sick people were infected with measles virus.    
   B. The doctor thought that Mary may have pneumonia.    
   C. The ecologist thought that the decline in salmon numbers may be caused by a pollutant.    
   D. The Engineer wondered if the airplane may have crashed due to pilot error.    
   E. Sharon wondered if the loaf of bread that she had baked was so small because she did not mix in enough yeast.    

I think it is C but I am not sure.

I'm not 100% sure either BUT it seems to me that each statement has a cause and effect except for B.

a. ) measle virus causing sick people
c.) pollutant causing a decline in salmon numbers
d) pilot error caused the crash
e.) lack of adequate mixing caused the size

SO B would be my answer.
