Design 1:
resale revenue per unit = 9.50, and recycling revenue per unit = 16.89, processing cost per unit = 7.44, disposal cost per unit = 10.19
Revenue retrieval for Firm 1 = 9.50 + 16.89 - 7.44 - 10.19 = 8.76

Design 2:
resale revenue per unit = 13.28, and recycling revenue per unit = 17.94, processing cost per unit = 10.89, disposal cost per unit = 10.62
Revenue retrieval for Firm 1 = 13.28 + 17.94 - 10.89 - 10.62 = 9.71

Therefore, with the higher revenue retrieval opportunity, Design 2 appears best.
