In all of the videos about cell cultures I've seen they always use cell that were already in a medium and transfer them to another medium.

My question is, how do you grow the first cells?

What type of cells are we talking about here?

Thanks, I went and checked that page and saw it was from alberts so I read it in the actual book, still I can't find the procedure itself.
