I'm not sure if this is the right way, but this is how I would do it. First, convert 25 mL to 0.0025 L since M=mol/L.

Now, to make M=0.1, you would need 0.00025 mol sucrose, which I calculated using this equation. (x mol sucrose)/(0.0025 L H2O) = 0.1 M.

Next, you convert mol sucrose to grams sucrose using the molar mass of sucrose. 0.00025 mol sucrose x (342.3g/mol) = 0.085575 g = 0.086 g (since you start with 2 significant figures).

So to prepare 25 mL of 0.1 M sucrose solution, you would place 0.086 grams of sucrose in 25 mL of water.

I hope this helped!
