“Imbalanced nutrition: less than body requirements” is the nursing diagnosis applicable to the patient with progressive systemic sclerosis (PSS). The nurse selects the most important point to teach, which is:
1.   eat three large meals spaced throughout the day.
2.   schedule rest periods to prevent overtiring.
3.   severe stress can trigger vasospasm.
4.   eat smaller, more frequent meals.

4. Smaller, more frequent meals may be better tolerated by the patient who has esophageal involvement.
