The client is prescribed Thorazine (chlorpromazine hydrochloride) 40 mg IM q6h prn for agitation. The vial is labeled 25 mg/mL. How many mL of medication will the client receive at each dose? Round the answer to the nearest tenth.

Global Rationale: mL/dose = 1 mL/25 mg x 40 mg/ 1 dose. Multiply the numerators and then divide by the denominators. The client will receive 1.6 mL/dose.
