Rationale 1: The nurse should use the equation 250 mL (3/4 strength) = mL full strength hydrogen peroxide. When solving the equation, 250 x 3/4 = 187.50 mL of hydrogen peroxide. Then the nurse would subtract the total amount of hydrogen peroxide from the total amount of solution or 250 mL  187.5 mL = 62.50 mL. The nurse would use 62.5 mL of sterile normal saline to make this solution.
