If the length of the gun barrel is 0.90m , what is the magnitude of the accelerating force? (Assume the acceleration to be constant.)

Answer:

mass of the bullet: 42g
final velocity: 150 m/s
initial velocity: 0 m/s (the bullet is at rest before the gun is fired)
displacement: 0.70 m

You want to find acceleration. We also know that (final velocity)^2=(2*displacement*acceleration... velocity)^2. So (150)^2=2(.7)(x)+0^2
22500=1.4x
a = 16071 m/s2

F = ma = 675 N
