The nurse is caring for a client with uncontrolled maternal diabetes who presents to the labor unit for induction of labor.

The client asks, Why does the doctor want to induce labor when my due date isn't until tomorrow? The nurse would explain the reason for induction of labor is: A) The doctor always does this. B) Your baby could die if it were born post-term. C) Babies born post-term to women with gestational diabetes don't do as well as those delivered by term. D) The doctor is worried that you will require a cesarean section, and he wants the labor process to be controlled.
