ANS: A
Cystic fibrosis is an inherited autosomal recessive disorder. When both parents carry the defective gene, each child has a 25 chance of inheriting the defective gene from both parents and manifesting the disease. It is a common disorder, especially in Caucasians, affecting 1 in 3,000 live births.
