The mother of an infant born prematurely tells the nurse, The baby is irritable. She cries during diaper changes and feedings. Can you make some suggestions about what I should do to soothe her?

A strategy that may be helpful is to swaddle the infant snugly in a light blanket with extremities flexed and hands near the face.
