The abstract is the first paragraph and basically a summary of the study. The introduction is what sets the stage for the study that is being conducted. It typically begins with a problem statement and a review of the past research studies on this topic. Next, the author will state the purpose of the study and the research questions or hypothesis that is being investigated. The next section is called the Method. It includes information about who participated in the study and the procedures used to conduct the study. The Results section is where the research findings are reported. This section will typically include statistical information and graphs or tables. The last section is the Discussion where the key findings are highlighted without the statistical language and the value of these findings are discussed. Finally, limitations of the study are addressed so results are interpreted correctly and ideas for future researchers are presented. The reference list at the end of the article includes all of the sources used.
