Consider two loci (A, B) each with two alleles (A, a; B, b). The frequency of A is known to be = 0.3, the frequency of b is known to be = 0.25 and the value of linkage disequilib-rium between loci A and B is known to be = 0.15.

  What is the expected haplotype frequency of haB? Please show your work.
  What will be an ideal response?

ANS:
D = haB Freq (a)Freq (B)
D + Freq (a)Freq (B) = haB
Freq (a) = 1 - 0.3 = 0.7
Freq (B) = 1 - 0.25 = 0.75
D = 0.15
By substituting:
haB = 0.15 + (0.7)(0.75)
haB = 0.15 + (0.7)(0.75)
haB = 0.15 + 0.525
haB = 0.675
