locate the H+ and OH- ions from the water molecule that was split (hydrolyzed) in this reaction, showing esculin hydrolysis.

last problem on the attachment #4 not sure about this one..

I don't think it will be much help, but the two obvious possibilities are: (see attachment)


The real problem is, where does the oxygen atom goes after hydrolysis of Esculin. Does it stay with Glucose or with Esculetin?
