  a. that the teen hero now is likely to be the smartest, most technologically advanced
  and coolest character around.
  b. that the dedicated, older professional mentor remains a central character in
  medical/doctor genre series.
  c. that medical series still glorify the rugged individualist doctor who almost always
  saves the day and the patient.
  d. that teen protagonists are centrally concerned with sex.
  e. that parents of teens, even when they are well-intentioned and caring, are out of the
  teenage loop.
