What was the ultimate result of the Dyer anti-lynching bill?

  A) It was the first piece of legislation to make lynching a federal crime, and lynchings greatly declined after this law was instituted.
  B) It was very unpopular and it was never allowed to be discussed in the House.
  C) Although the NAACP gained publicity for the anti-lynching crusade, the bill ultimately failed.
  D) Although it passed, it was a very weak law and had no effect on slowing the tide of lynching.
