Ans: A unique Sec-tRNA recognizes a stop codon, UGA, in the mRNA by its unique secondary structure. The Sec-tRNA is generated from a Ser-tRNA by modifying serine to selenocysteine, and the SelB gene product is an elongation factor that uniquely places this modified tRNA into the A site instead of the usual EF-Tu.
