1. A 0.450kg block moving vertically upward collides with a light vertical spring and compresses it 5.50cm before coming to rest. If the spring constant is 47.0N/m , what was the initial speed of the block? (Ignore energy losses to sound and other factors during the collision.)

2. If it takes a particle in SHM 0.25s to travel from the equilibrium position to the maximum displacement (amplitude), what is the period of oscillation?

A 0.200kg kg block moving vertically upward collides with a light vertical spring and compresses it 5.50cm cm before coming to rest.If the spring constant is 49.0N/m N/m , what was the initial speed of the block? (Ignore energy losses to sound and other factors during the collision.)
