one more heat transfer question! I'm going to give it another go and post my results if anyone could point out where I mess up or if I'm correct,
Thank you!! Slight Smile

info for lead
boiling point = 1.740E3 °C   Hvap(1.740E3 °C) = 858.2 J/g
melting point = 328.0 °C   Hfus(328.0 °C) = 23.00 J/g
specific heat solid = 0.1300 J/g°C
specific heat liquid = 0.1380 J/g°C

A 22.60 g sample of liquid lead at 572.0 °C is poured into a mold and allowed to cool to 24.0 °C. How many kJ of energy are released in this process

so, this is what i did

22.60 x .1380 x (328-572) -760.98

22.60 x -23= -519.8

22.60 x .1380 x (24-328)= -948.1152

added them all together to get -2228.9024 J then divided by a thousand to get kj

-2.229kj

Could anyone confirm the outcome?
