(Answer to Q. 1)  Co-workers with technical knowledge may be willing to assist. Books and guides for using hardware and software are often available. Most software has help features and online services to assist the user. Training may also be provided by an outside company contracted to provide support services, a manufacturer's or software vendor's help desk, or conventional classes or webinars.

(Answer to Q. 3)  It is helpful to understand the basic concepts and be able to communicate with the IT side of the legal team. The legal team also needs to be aware of what they do not know, so they know when to ask for help and to whom their questions should be directed.

(Answer to Q. 4)  The field of law has developed its own lexicon of terms that enables those in the legal community to communicate effectively and with precision. The technology world also has developed its own lexicon. The legal team and the technology support team must learn each other's language in order for one team to communicate its needs and solutions to the other. In some cases, each group thinks it is communicating to the other, but in reality, the words used by one group may have a different meaning to the other group. In addition, the IT team needs sufficient time to develop a solution. Often the legal team waits until the last minute to advise the IT staff of the problem.

(Answer to Q. 5)  Electronic documents can now be created, stored, and distributed with a single keystroke. For example, a single email sent to an individual's address book can result in hundred of copies of that email, as well as hundreds of replies from recipients. Critical evidence could be buried within those documents, so all must be produced and reviewed. In addition, electronically stored information has reduced retention costs.

(Answer to Q. 6)  A present interest is the right to currently own, possess, use, and enjoy the property. A future interest is the right to own the property at some unknown time in the future. In a future interest, possession, use, and enjoyment are deferred until the future. A future interest can be a reversion to the grantor, or a remainder to a third party.

(Answer to Q. 7)  B
