Just after the body dies, it immediately stops taking in needed oxygen. Does it at the same time immediately stop producing carbon dioxide?
A) Yes, because without the oxygen, carbon dioxide can no longer be produced.
B) Yes, because death means an immediate cessation of all body metabolism.
C) No, and without CO2 exhalation the pH of the blood decreases to very damaging levels.
D) No, and without CO2 exhalation the pH of the blood increases to very damaging levels.
