Answer to #1

The criteria are as follows:

a. Authority. To apply the authority criterion to a Web resource, the user should identify the writer's authority on the topic, legitimacy, and copyright. Knowing the writer's purpose in posting the page helps the user determine how legitimate the information is.
b. Accuracy. To apply the accuracy criterion, the user should determine whether the information, statistics, and charts are correct. When a website provides links to other sources that verify the information, the user can assume the information is more credible.
c. Objectivity. This criterion helps the user determine the sponsor's motivation for providing the information, whether the information is part of an advertising scheme, and whether the information is well supported. The more objective and less subjective the information, the greater is its reliability.
d. Currency. This criterion helps the user identify the date the page was last revised, and thus determine how up-to-date the information is.
e. Coverage. This criterion helps the user determine whether the information is complete in terms of time period and content.
