The greater the surface area, the greater the perfusion. A cylinder with greater surface area would have to be narrow and slender, like a capillary. This in turn will make it very long. A thick cylinder will not enable all - or nearly all - the acetic acid molecules to be near the inner surface of the cylinder; as a result, this prevents the perfusion of acetic acid.
