Responses should include the following: (a). The fact that DNA is linear, that DNA is a chain of nucleotides, and that there are four types of nucleotides which are identical except for the bases was known from published experiments. (b). Chargraff contributed that the bases A & T and G & C are always found in equal amounts respectively. (c) Franklin contributed good images of DNA using X-ray diffraction that showed the arrangement of the molecules. (d). Watson and Crick came up with the double-helix structure.
